Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Making Sense of ITAR, EAR, OFAC and Other Trade Controls

Bass, Berry & Sims is pleased to partner with the U.S. Commercial Service for a seminar titled "Making Sense of ITAR, EAR, OFAC and Other Trade Controls." Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys Thad McBride and Cheryl Palmeri and Craig Pettit, Director of International Operations and Compliance at Bridgestone Americas, will help attendees understand United States trade controls, including the following:

  • Defense export controls administered by the U.S. State Department under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Commercial or "dual use" export controls administered by the U.S. Commerce Department under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • U.S. economic sanctions and embargoes administered by the U.S. Treasury Department, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

While the seminar is tailored to small- and mid-sized companies that operate – or want to operate – outside the United States, any member of the exporting community is welcome to join us. 

This event will take place on Wednesday, March 2 from 9:30 am-3:00 pm CT at Bass, Berry & Sims' Nashville office. The cost to attend is $79.00.
