Elisa Harris is an associate in the firm's Healthcare Practice Area. She assists a broad range of healthcare providers, including hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, hospices and more providing analysis on areas including fraud and abuse, self-referral, and analysis of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions from a business and regulatory perspective. In addition, Elisa specializes in the area of managed care, advising health plans and providers regarding operational and regulatory issues, including compliance with HIPAA, Medicare Advantage and Part D, as well as negotiating managed care agreements. She is a member of the Payors, Plans and Managed Care Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association and serves on its e-alert team. She joined Bass, Berry & Sims after receiving her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2007.  While in law school, Elisa interned at the Vanderbilt University Office of the General Counsel as well as in the Tennessee Supreme Court for Chief Justice Frank Drowata. 

Prior to attending Vanderbilt, Elisa served as an associate minister at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, TN and Torrey Pines Christian Church in La Jolla, CA.  She graduated cum laude from the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN, with a Master of Divinity in 1998.  In 1995, she graduated magna cum laude with two degrees, a B.S. in mathematics and a B.A. in English, from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO.
