Erin Massey Everitt is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Area. She has experience in a wide variety of corporate defense work, including civil and criminal regulatory actions and investigations by the Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission and other state or foreign regulatory authorities. Erin has parallel experience in complex civil litigation, defending against private securities class actions, antitrust litigation, employment litigation and claims based in contract law. Additionally, Erin has assisted clients in developing and implementing effective antitrust policies and training programs. Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Erin was an associate at White & Case LLP in Washington, D.C.
Erin graduated cum laude from Rhodes College with a B.A. in international studies, and received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. During law school, Erin served as an articles editor of the SMU Computer Law Review & Technology Journal. During that time, she also engaged in an externship with the SEC's Enforcement Division, and interned with Judge Jon P. McCalla of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Following law school, she earned an LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center in securities and financial regulation with an emphasis on corporate defense litigation.
