Our Lateral Hiring Partner, Entry Level Hiring Partner and Attorney Hiring Manager, all of whom are members of the Diversity Committee, are focused on identifying, recruiting and retaining attorneys who will contribute varied backgrounds and perspectives to the overall diversity of the firm.
We participate each year in minority job fairs, which have included the following:
- Southeastern Minority Job Fair in Atlanta
- The Cook County Job Fair in Chicago
- The Vault Diversity Career Fair
- The South Regional Black Law Students Association Job Fair
- The GLBT-sponsored Lavender Law Conference
We select law schools for our on-campus interviews based in part on the diversity of the school’s student body. We also select candidates for interviews with our firm based in part on the candidate’s diversity. We offer an annual program to minority students at both Vanderbilt Law School and the University of Tennessee College of Law. These programs are geared toward first year students and provide practical insight into day-to-day life at Bass, Berry & Sims. The programs give Bass, Berry & Sims the opportunity for our firm to build relationships with diverse law students at an early stage of the recruiting process.
