Recruitment
Our Lateral Hiring Partner, Entry Level Hiring Partner and Attorney Hiring Manager, all of whom are members of the Diversity Committee, are focused on identifying, recruiting and retaining attorneys who will contribute varied backgrounds and perspectives to the overall diversity of the firm.
We participate each year in the following minority job fairs:
- The Southeastern Minority Job Fair in Atlanta
- The GLBT-sponsored Lavender Law Conference
- The Damali Booker 1L Minority Job Fair in Nashville
- Tennessee Bar Association Diversity Job Fair in Nashville
We select law schools for our on-campus interviews based in part on the diversity of the school’s student body. We offer an annual program to minority students at both Vanderbilt Law School and the University of Tennessee College of Law. This program is geared toward first year students and provides practical insight into day-to-day life at Bass, Berry & Sims. It also gives Bass, Berry & Sims the opportunity to build relationships with diverse law students at an early stage of the recruiting process.
As a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pipeline Committee, the firm is participating in the
2012 1L LCLD Scholars Program. The overall goal of the LCLD 1L Scholars Program is to increase diversity in the legal profession.
