The African-American Affinity Group

The African-American Affinity Group (3AG), an extension of our diversity initiative at Bass, Berry & Sims, was formed to serve as a forum for African-American attorneys at the firm to exchange ideas and information relevant to their unique experiences as minority attorneys. The primary goals of the group are to mentor African-American attorneys and to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for personal and professional development within the firm. Another component of the group is its mentor program. Each African-American attorney at the firm has been paired with an African-American mentor outside the firm. The mentors are attorneys in a variety of industries across the country.

Alonda Woodson McCutcheon"Before working at Bass, I had the preconceived belief that the attorneys at the firm would be conservative and stuffy. While clerking here during the summer, I learned that nothing could be further from the truth. Bass attorneys are extremely talented yet down-to-earth. As an associate at the firm, I continue to interact with partners and associates who have diverse backgrounds and respect for differing perspectives." - Alonda Woodson McCutcheon, Associate
