Davidson represents employers in all aspects of employment law and labor relations, including the litigation of wage and hour cases, claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation, and cases regarding the breach of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements. In addition, he works closely with employers regarding management, employee relations, and wage and hour issues. His clients include healthcare, retail and food service companies with regional and national operations and educational institutions.

Food Service Industry: Davidson was lead counsel in a FLSA collective action against a national restaurant chain regarding unpaid wages and working off the clock. The case was dismissed in favor of arbitration and resolved through mediation. In the process, Davidson worked with the company to identify and correct operational issues in order to prevent future wage and hour problems.

Retail: For several years, Davidson has represented a national retail chain in a number of lawsuits in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings before the Department of Labor. These cases have involved claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation under Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA, the ADEA and similar state laws.

Educational Institutions: Davidson has been lead counsel in lawsuits against a private university in which employees have asserted claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Recently, he appeared before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, which affirmed the trial court’s grant of summary judgment in our client’s favor.

Davidson also has a variety of traditional labor experience. He recently helped an automotive parts supplier to defend against the UAW’s attempt to organize the employees at a local facility. After several weeks, the UAW withdrew its petition for an election.

Davidson lives in Franklin, Tennessee, where he is a member of St. Phillips Church. He serves on the Board of Directors of Williamson County CASA, a nonprofit organization that provides advocacy services on behalf of abused and neglected children.
