Dewees Berry Invited to Join the American College of Real Estate Lawyers
Nashville, Tenn., April 20, 2009 – Bass, Berry & Sims Member Dewees Berry has been invited to join the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL).
ACREL is the premier organization of U.S. real estate lawyers. Admission is by invitation only after a rigorous screening process. ACREL’s distinguished, nationally-known lawyers have been elected to fellowship not only for their outstanding legal ability, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law, but also for their contributions to the real estate and legal professions through their practices, their legal writings and their public speaking.
Dewees Berry regularly litigates such real estate conflicts as eminent domain matters, mechanic's lien and construction suits, quiet title actions, and contract disputes. He advises clients concerning zoning, planning, lease disputes, boundary, easement, restrictive covenant and land use issues. He also has extensive transactional experience. His practice has included purchases and sales, financings, leasing, and all other aspects of commercial real estate.
Berry teaches Property and Advanced Property Law at the Nashville School of Law, is the editor of the Tennessee Real Estate Law Letter, and a past president of the Nashville Bar Association. He earned his B.A. and J.D. from Vanderbilt University.
