Construction and Design Contracts

Our attorneys have extensive experience drafting and negotiating all types of construction contracts, design contracts and related documents, including standard industry forms produced by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Engineers Joints Construction Documents Committee (EJCDC), ConsensusDOCS and others. We have experience with a broad array of project delivery methods, including design-bid-build, design-build, multiple prime, fast-track and construction management. We can assist our clients in selecting the best delivery alternatives for their projects, and we offer true “beginning-to-end” representation, from selection, drafting and negotiation of contracts, to project close-out, and managing and resolving claims. We also work with other practice groups within our firm to address additional issues related to construction, including real estate, financing, tax, labor and employment and environmental issues. Our construction attorneys are active in several construction-related organizations, such as the American Bar Association Forum Committee on the Construction Industry and the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel, have published numerous articles and spoken at numerous seminars on construction related issues, have been involved in shaping construction-related legislation, and always strive to stay on the leading edge of the construction law issues that affect our clients around the country.
