As a law student, you are faced with many choices when deciding what path your career may take. You also will need to consider the type of practice that interests you as well as the culture and atmosphere of the organization where you want to work.
Law students who demonstrate high academic achievement, participate in law school activities and show an interest in the community are given the opportunity to experience a well-rounded summer at Bass, Berry & Sims. Our program is designed to provide law students with a realistic picture of life as an associate and to assess a candidate's ability to contribute to our firm. The relationships you build and the challenging opportunities you discover continue when you begin a legal career with us.
We have completed hiring second year students for our 2012 summer associate program. However, our firm is participating in the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 2012 1L Scholars Program. The overall goal of the LCLD is to increase diversity in the legal profession. As a participant in the LCLD 1L Scholars Program, we plan to hire first year students to be a part of our summer associate program.
First year law students in good standing at an ABA accredited law school who are interested in this program should submit the following materials to no later than Wednesday, February 22, 2012:
- Resume
- Cover letter
- Law school transcript reflecting Fall 2011 grades
Please note that our firm has a second half only program that will run from June 25, 2012 through August 3, 2012, and our LCLD 1L scholars will be located in our Nashville office.
