Helpdesk Specialist

Summary - The Helpdesk Specialist is responsible for responding to the technology needs of Bass, Berry & Sims, PLC employees. The Helpdesk Specialist must have good communication skills, ability to write technical documentation, and maintain professional attitude and appearance. Ability to work in a team environment is a must.

Requirements - The Helpdesk Specialist will meet the following qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred, but not required. Law firm or professional services experience is a plus.
  2. 1+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop environment.
  3. 1+ years experience supporting Microsoft Office
  4. Good verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate well with technical vendors for support.
  5. Professional appearance and attitude.
  6. Ability to work well with others.
  7. The ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.

Responsibilities - The Helpdesk Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
  1. Front line person for answering phones.
  2. Enter work orders for emails sent to Helpdesk inbox.
  3. Resolve support requests that can be completed in a timely manner.
  4. Follow up with end users.
  5. Provide occasional support on floor.
  6. Participate in on call rotation schedule.

Legal Assistant - Labor and Employment

Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is seeking an experienced litigation legal assistant to support several attorneys in the Labor and Employment Department. Duties include: Heavy litigation; state and federal e-filings; extensive calendaring of appearances and litigation deadlines; prepare correspondence, pleadings and discovery; mediation, arbitration and trial preparation, prepare legal documents and correspondence, court filings, scanning, coordinating meetings, time entry, digital transcription, running conflicts, opening and maintaining client files, processing client bills and expense reimbursements.

Requirements
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and able to work well in a fast paced environment.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to read and write in order to proof and perform minor editing (e.g., punctuation, grammar, spelling) of routine law office correspondence and legal case matters.
  • Perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents; maintain records and filing systems at a level normally acquired through completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Approximately three to five years on the job experience necessary in order to gain an understanding of law office policies and procedures and produce accurate legal documents with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
