Position Title:
Billing Specialist

This position is responsible for reviewing, correcting and processing client invoices throughout the month in addition to serving as a technical assistant to the firm.

Requirements:

Successful candidates should possess the following:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years accounting experience, preferably in a professional service environment.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and 10-key; Experience in Thompson Elite Accounting Software a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, and must be able to convey his or her ideas in a manner that is convincing to others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow ability to work with a variety of attorneys and administrative staff, and the professional presence and demeanor to represent the firm in its accounting functions to the attorneys, staff and administrative departments.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, solutions driven, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, faced paced environment while promoting a harmonious work environment.

Position Title:
Litigation Paralegal

  • The Litigation Paralegal will conduct extensive legal research relating to complex problems and projects and will prepare memoranda and/or opinions containing recommended courses of action and/or solutions to legal issues.
  • The Litigation Paralegal will research and analyze law sources, such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes in order to prepare legal documents.
  • The Litigation Paralegal will conduct interviews and investigations in order to gather information relating to particular legal issues and/or litigation.
  • The Litigation Paralegal will prepare drafts of resolutions, ordinances, responses to legislative requests, leases and contracts.
  • The Litigation Paralegal will provide full support to their assigned attorneys, as well as, assist any other attorney within the firm that may require assistance.

Requirements:

  • The Litigation Paralegal should possess a degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or a certificate in Paralegal studies. In lieu of education, they would be required to have at least three to five years experience as a paralegal with a law firm.
  • The Litigation Paralegal should possess an in-depth knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and practices of legal research.
  • The Litigation Paralegal should have experience working with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Summation, Lexis and Westlaw, and other computer programs as needed.
  • The Litigation Paralegal should have extensive writing skills in order to prepare legal documents, enhanced communication skills in order to effectively discuss complex legal issues with attorney, and should be able to handle multiple tasks assigned to them by the attorneys and prioritize them effectively.
