On December 1, 2016, Parker Hannifin Corporation and CLARCOR Inc. announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Parker will acquire CLARCOR for approximately $4.3 billion in cash, including the assumption of net debt. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the board of directors of each company. Upon closing of the transaction, expected to be completed by or during the first quarter of Parker’s fiscal year 2018, CLARCOR will be combined with Parker’s Filtration Group to form a leading and diverse global filtration business. Associate – Litigation/Managed Care Associate

Our Managed Care Strategy & Disputes Team plays a unique and invaluable role in the healthcare industry. Many of the nation's largest healthcare law firms represent managed care companies in disputes with providers. In contrast, Bass, Berry & Sims primarily focuses on representing the full spectrum of healthcare providers including hospitals and health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, air ambulance companies, dialysis companies, specialty pharmacies, clinical laboratories, physician practice management companies and physician practice groups, in their dealings with managed care companies and other payors. We assist providers in formulating and implementing their payor strategies and handle all types of disputes with managed care companies from initial evaluation and informal dispute resolution to formal resolution thru arbitration or litigation. 

Our firm is seeking a litigation attorney with two-plus years of experience for our Nashville office. The ideal candidate will have experience in managed care (provider/payor) disputes in both commercial and Medicare Advantage/Managed Medicaid health programs, applicable ERISA law and the Affordable Care Act. Associate – Healthcare Fraud & Abuse

Our Healthcare Fraud and Abuse Practice Group defends healthcare clients throughout the United States in civil and criminal matters, including matters relating to the False Claims Act, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute, various criminal statutes and Medicare and Medicaid claims audits by government contractors. Our attorneys are experienced in dealing with federal and state authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the United States Attorneys' Offices, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, various states' Attorney's General offices and investigators, and the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Our firm is seeking an associate attorney coming out of a judicial clerkship or with two-plus years of experience for our Nashville office. Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group has an immediate need for a patent prosecution associate with a minimum of two years of experience. This position may be based in our Washington, D.C., Nashville or Memphis offices. Successful candidates will be admitted to the USPTO and hold an electrical engineering undergraduate degree, with preference given to those with higher level degrees. The role requires at least two years of experience drafting patent applications. Pre-law school experience as a patent examiner or patent agent is a plus.

Senior Litigation Attorney – Intellectual Property & Technology

Our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group is seeking an experienced intellectual property senior litigation attorney to join our Washington, D.C. office. Successful candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience with significant second chair litigation experience with strong preference for some first chair experience.  There is a preference for a technical or academic background in mechanical or electrical engineering. It is vital that the candidate possess strong client relations skills. Attorney should be able to work both independently and in a team environment with instruction from more senior attorneys. Attorneys with portable clients will be given consideration.
