Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Our team, led by David King, was successful in halting efforts to recoup TennCare payments that were used legitimately to expand services in communities that needed them. Read more

Associate — Construction Litigation

Our Construction Contracts and Litigation team provides a multi-disciplinary approach to meet clients' real estate and construction needs. We assist buyers, sellers, lenders, owners, builders and designers to resolve conflicts in a manner that best achieves their goals and appropriately allocates risk. The technical acumen of our team has been developed over years of addressing issues specific to this industry which allows us to provide high-precision guidance as well as practical wisdom. As a result of this deep experience, our attorneys have been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America®, Mid-South Super Lawyers, LawDragon and Who's Who Legal.

Our firm is seeking a construction attorney with at least two years of transactional and litigation experience for our Nashville office. The ideal candidate will have prior construction industry experience in addition to a minimum of two years of construction contracts and dispute experience as an attorney. Candidates must have excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills as well as excellent academic credentials. Experience in real estate or environmental litigation is a plus, as is experience with American Institute of Architect (AIA) Contract Documents and similar construction industry form contracts. Associate — Employee Benefits

Bass, Berry & Sims has one of the most experienced and sophisticated Employee Benefits practices in the Southeast. We partner with public and private employers, benefits consultants and third party administrators in the design, drafting, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of employee benefits plans. Our attorneys also: (1) provide ERISA fiduciary guidance and guide employers through the changing landscape of employer-sponsored health plans; and (2) provide employee benefits expertise in mergers and acquisitions and with respect to executive compensation.

Our Nashville office is seeking an attorney with at least two years of solid ERISA and employee benefits experience. Experience with executive compensation is helpful, but is not required. Associate — Healthcare/Specialty Pharmacy & Pharmaceuticals

Our Specialty Pharmacy & Pharmaceuticals Practice Group is one of the largest in the country. Led by industry veterans who have experience as both in-house general counsel and outside counsel for national pharmacy, pharma service and pharmacy benefit management companies, our multi-disciplinary team serves as operational and transactional counsel to a majority of the nation's largest specialty pharmacies. We are regularly engaged in significant transactions in the specialty pharmacy industry. We also provide practical business advice and legal guidance to help with trade and distribution matters facing clients within the pharmaceutical industry. Day-to-day, we assist clients in navigating and complying with the contractual, regulatory and operational requirements unique to the pharmaceutical industry, and we lead clients in audits and compliance reviews.

Our firm is seeking an accomplished attorney with at least four years of experience for our Memphis office. While specialty pharmacy and/or healthcare experience is preferred, it is not required. Due to the decidedly specialized nature of our practice, we are seeking highly motivated attorneys with strong client service orientation, well-developed negotiation skills, excellent academic credentials and an interest in a fast-paced practice. Attorneys must possess a high degree of interest in the healthcare and pharmacy industries; however, we will consider high performing attorneys from a variety of backgrounds including litigation or corporate practices.
