Bill Whitman joined Bass, Berry & Sims PLC in June 2004 as an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Area.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and products liability defense.

Prior to joining the firm, Bill served as a law clerk for the Honorable Thomas M. Shanahan in the U.S. District Court in Omaha, NE. 

A native of Memphis, Bill graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1998 with a B.A. in philosophy and pre-medicine.  Following graduation, he worked for Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs in the office of Public Policy and Social Action.  Bill received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Notre Dame Law School in 2002.  While in law school, he studied at the Notre Dame London Law Centre, concentrating his studies on international and comparative law.  Additionally, he served as articles editor for the Notre Dame Law Review and served as a legal writing teaching assistant.
