Mr. Larson practices in the firm's litigation section and represents corporations and other businesses in various types of adversarial proceedings, including mediation and arbitration. Mr. Larson frequently represents entities in the healthcare field in litigation arising out of breaches of representations and warranties, non-compete covenants and compliance issues. Mr. Larson also has represented many public and private companies under criminal, civil or administrative investigation from a variety of state and federal agencies including: the United States Department of Justice, the United States Department of Labor, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General, the Tennessee Valley Authority's Office of Inspector General and the Tennessee Securities Commission. In the course of these representations, Mr. Larson has served as special counsel to a company's board and audit committee and has conducted numerous internal investigations into alleged wrongdoing by corporate officers.

Mr. Larson's experience includes:

Successfully defended two public companies whose directors allegedly traded securities on the basis of inside information.
Currently defending a qui tam action brought by a former employee alleging violations of the False Claims Act.
Represented a public company that was a target of a federal criminal investigation for violation of the criminal false claims act for alleged overbilling related to a government contract.
Obtaining a defense judgment for a hospital company in an ERISA action brought by participants alleging breach of fiduciary duty by the company's administrative committee due to their continued investment in company stock in the wake of certain investigations into the company's billing practices.

Mr. Larson is a member of the American and Nashville Bar Associations and the American Health Lawyers Association and is a former member of both the Harry Phillips and the Hamilton Burnett Inns of Court. He is admitted to practice in the State of Tennessee as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee.

Mr. Larson joined the firm in 1995 and was named a Member in 2003. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in business administration and magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was chair of the Moot Court Board and a member of the National Moot Court team, which advanced to the National Quarter Finals. Mr. Larson was honored as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers.
