Memphis, Tenn. (July 12, 2011) - Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to welcome associates Andy Garrett and Marija Sokolov to the firm’s Memphis office.
Andrew E. Garrett joins the firm's Corporate and Securities Practice. A native of Memphis, he earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2007 and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010. While in law school, he served as articles editor for the Virginia Tax Review and a Counsel for the University of Virginia’s Honor System. During the Fall of 2010, he worked as a Policy Analyst on the Bill Haslam for Governor campaign.
Marija Sokolov joins the firm's Corporate and Securities Practice. Her practice focuses on public equity and debt offerings for both issuers and underwriters, counseling with respect to the registration and disclosure requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission, mergers and acquisitions, as well as general corporate governance matters. She was previously an associate at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP. She earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2006. She earned a B.A. from James Madison University in 2003.
