Bass, Berry & Sims PLC Donates to Second Harvest Food Bank

The Knoxville office of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC competed with nine other Knoxville-based law firms this year to donate more than 2,500 pounds of canned food for the hungry in time for Christmas. The firms also provided more than $6,175 in donations.

Bass, Berry & Sims PLC contributed the most pounds of food per attorney - 45.5 pounds, more than 10 pounds ahead of runner-up, Paine, Tarwater & Bickers. Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop contributed the most total pounds of food - 583, more than 100 pounds ahead of runners-up Hodges, Doughty & Carson.

Hennessey and other lawyers came up with the idea for the group's Canned Food Drive Competition after reading last year's series on hunger in the News Sentinel.

Proceeds went to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
