Bass, Berry & Sims Partner Named Vice Chair for Tax and Securities Law Institute


Knoxville, Tenn., October 27, 2008 – Mark Mamantov, partner at Bass, Berry & Sims, was recently named vice chair for the Tax and Securities Law Institute. The meeting, presented by the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL), will be held March 5 - 6, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. The institute is the most technical seminar presented by NABL and is intended for the most advanced practitioners in the area of tax and securities law for public finance. Mr. Mamantov has previously chaired NABL's two other seminars - Fundamentals of Municipal Bond Law and the Bond Attorneys' Workshop.

Mark Mamantov is a founding partner of the Bass, Berry & Sims’ Knoxville office and serves as the administrator there. His practice is primarily transactional, with a special emphasis on tax-exempt finance, commercial lending and real estate. Business Tennessee magazine has named him one of the best lawyers in the state of Tennessee every year since 2004, and recognized him as one of Tennessee’s 101 leaders in commercial real estate in 2007 and 2008. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and the University of Virginia School of Law.
