Abby’s practice focuses on corporate and securities, healthcare litigation and administrative and regulatory work. Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Abby was a career law clerk to the Honorable Thomas A. Higgins in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and spent six years as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General and Reporter, where she gained extensive trial experience litigating civil rights and general tort cases in state and federal courts and the Tennessee Claims Commission.

Securities and Corporate: Abby has participated in complex state and federal litigation including class action shareholder suits and multi-district litigation. She has also represented the firm’s corporate clients in other business-related litigation, including breach of contract suits and property disputes.

Healthcare: Abby’s experience with the firm’s healthcare clients ranges from administrative certificate-of-need disputes to malpractice defense and other business-related litigation, including extensive electronic discovery.

Administrative and Regulatory Proceedings: Abby advises and represents clients in a wide array of administrative matters, including bringing and responding to governmental procurement bid protests, and challenges to agency regulations under the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act.
