Anna Grizzle practices in the firm's Healthcare Practice Area, where she works with a broad range of healthcare providers and companies on compliance, credentialing and risk management issues. Ms. Grizzle works with clients in developing and implementing compliance programs and frequently counsels clients on compliance-related matters. Ms. Grizzle works with clients in conducting internal investigations and frequently represents clients in Medicare audits and overpayment disputes. Ms. Grizzle also has extensive experience in advising clients on medical staff credentialing and peer review matters, including the drafting of medical staff bylaws, conducting of medical staff investigations and hearings and responding to records requests and subpoenas. Ms. Grizzle also is experienced in defending healthcare clients in medical malpractice actions and other formal litigation. In addition to her healthcare experience, Ms. Grizzle has represented clients in both state and federal courts in the areas of antitrust, business torts and corporate and securities.

Ms. Grizzle joined the firm in 2000 after practicing with a law firm in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Grizzle received her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1998, where she was developmental editor of the Alabama Law Review and a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team and the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board. Ms. Grizzle was also a Hugo L. Black Scholar and honored as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers. She also graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University in 1994 with a B.A. in communication.

Ms. Grizzle is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), the Nashville Bar Association and the Alabama State Bar. She is admitted to practice in the states of Tennessee and Alabama, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Alabama. She also is a member of the Department of Communication Advisory Board at Mississippi State University. Ms. Grizzle serves as a member of the boards of directors for Youth Encouragement Services, a nonprofit working with inner-city children in the Nashville area, and the Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center, a Nashville organization providing quality childcare to at-risk and under-served urban children.
