Resources and Technology

Bass, Berry & Sims recognizes the importance of technology and providing superior client service.  Our attorneys, paralegals and staff are equipped with state-of-the-art technology tools and resources.  Our Information Technology Department works in conjunction with all practice areas to provide assistance around the clock.

Information Technology (IT) Department
Our firm has complete support from our IT Department, including emergency support for after-hours and weekends.  Our IT Department provides a dedicated server for large electronic cases with millions of pages.  Our databases can be networked so that all of our offices can access information simultaneously.  We also have excellent remote access capabilities so that attorneys and staff can access the firm's servers from remote locations over the Internet or phone lines. 

Extranet Capability
We have developed a client collaboration Extranet, branded "BBSX," that is a secure Web site dedicated to client case management.  BBSX facilitates communication and collaboration between the client and their Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys via a real-time Web environment that is continuously available.  This Web environment is completely private and allows for secure communication and document sharing.  In addition, BBSX provides real-time visibility into workflow, event status and documents in progress. 

Specialized Litigation Software and Hardware
The Bass, Berry & Sims Litigation Practice Area has made a substantial investment in specialized litigation software and hardware to provide cutting edge technology in the courtroom and for the management of complex litigation.  Our firm has the necessary computer hardware, projectors, visual presenters, speakers, monitors and screens to "hard wire" any courtroom or venue, and our firm employs a full-time staff to assist with the use and training of this software and hardware.
