Bass, Berry & Sims Partner Honored as One of the Nation’s Top Benefits Attorneys
Fritz Richter, III Among Only 17 Attorneys Inducted Into the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel
Nashville, Tenn., October 6, 2008 – The American College of Employee Benefits Counsel inducted 17 new Fellows at its Ninth Annual Induction Dinner on September 27, 2008 in New Orleans. Among employee benefits attorneys selected from throughout the country was Fritz Richter, III, a partner at Bass, Berry & Sims in Nashville.
Induction as a Fellow of this organization is viewed as a national distinction. Each nominee is required to have focused on employee benefits law for at least 20 years and to have demonstrated a sustained commitment to public awareness and understanding of benefits laws through such activities as writing, speaking, public policy analysis, public education or public service. Nominees are also required to have provided exceptionally high-quality professional services to clients, the bar, and the public. As a result, selection as a Fellow is a high honor reflecting substantive contributions to the field of employee benefits over the Fellow’s entire career.
Fritz Richter has been practicing exclusively in the areas of employee benefits and executive compensation for over 20 years. He advises a large number of clients on the design, implementation and administration of all types of employee benefit plans and compensation arrangements. Mr. Richter graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law. He also earned a Master of Laws in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining Bass, Berry & Sims in 1995, Mr. Richter was with the Internal Revenue Service Employee Plans and Chief Counsel's Offices in Washington, D.C., where he was involved in significant employee benefits regulatory, compliance and litigation matters.
